Although everything in Europe is pretty much closed over the summer I still thought I’d explore the Paris flea market in mid-August. It wasn’t a complete failure, I found a chest of drawers I love for the house, but I must admit it wasn’t the best time to visit. Nearly all my favorite vendors were on vacation including the lovely lady with the antique linens at Marché Vernaison. So it comes as no surprise that as far as auctions are concerned dealers are just starting to get their feet wet early September. It’s a slow week compared to what’s coming next, but there are still some very special pieces, especially if you’re looking to buy accessories (and clothes).
