Welcome Home!
I’m Renata Mosci Sanfourche and this is
a newsletter about everything I do in my apartment instead of writing my book.
What brings you in?
I’ve made a career out of editing what’s happening in art and culture for weekend papers and magazines. I spent my days going through every black t-shirt in the market, reading through piles of advance book copies, going to art openings, browsing new objects, looking for young writers, rummaging through the news before it’s even news, all to find the perfect, most timely version of each for you, the reader. All of this research went straight to the stoops of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal subscribers.
I left this job to write my first novel, but a lot of my day-to-day hasn’t changed. When I’m not writing I spend hours researching what’s going on out there. I can’t help it. I need to know who published which short story in what magazine and if it was interesting, what art shows are going on and what reviewers are saying, what antique design items are interesting at the moment, which movies are worth digging back up from the past…
This is exactly what you’ll get when you Subscribe to my newsletter. Me doing what I do best, rounding up my research and sending it straight to your inbox.

Who am I?
A writer working on a novel. I was an editor at The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal before I fell in love with a French man, moved to Paris, and served as the deputy editor at Mastermind Magazine. Before all of this I was at Los Angeles Magazine and Marie Claire. You may have seen some of my stories in Holiday Magazine and Icon America, two publications I contribute to regularly from my desk in Paris.
A highlight? I conducted the last interview with Karl Lagerfeld before he passed away, it was a conversation between him and Leila Slimani at his Paris bookstore.
Who am I really?
A nerd. I read a lot and I like to geek out on the content I’m consuming. I’m a fan of Virginia Woolf, Marguerite Duras, and Clarice Lispector. My favorite director is Maurice Pialat and I’ve got weird taste in music. I’ve been an immigrant all my life, I moved 18 times by the time I was 18. I grew up between the United States and Brazil, and now I live in Paris. I’m terrible in the kitchen but I’m good at cleaning. I was a tomboy growing up. Therapy saved my life. I’m a mother. I’m married. I like hunting for things in auctions and flea markets. I don’t have a filter. I’m a transparent and happily vulnerable person.
And I’m not ready to delete my Instagram.
